Pakistan Prize Bond 2026 Draw Dates

Prize bonds in Pakistan are backed by the Government of Pakistan and issued through the Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) under the supervision of the State Bank of Pakistan. They’re a safe way to save money with the chance to win cash prizes there’s no interest, but the original capital remains secure.

Important updates for 2026:

  • Rs. 100, Rs. 200, Rs. 750, and Rs. 1,500 bonds remain active and drawn quarterly.
  • Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 15,000 bonds are no longer part of the regular prize bond schedule.
  • Premium bonds specifically Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 40,000 Premium Prize Bonds continue with their own quarterly schedule.

Premium Prize Bonds (Registered Bonds)

Premium bonds follow a slightly different schedule usually drawn on the 10th of each quarter:

  • Rs. 25,000 Premium: 10 Mar, 10 Jun, 10 Sep, 10 Dec, with rotating cities.
  • Rs. 40,000 Premium: 10 Mar, 10 Jun, 10 Sep, 10 Dec, with rotating cities.

These premium bonds are registered to a CNIC and often have higher prize money and automatic credit to bank accounts when won which eliminates manual claim hassles.

How Prize Bonds Work

When you buy a prize bond, you’re investing in a government-backed security that:

  • Doesn’t earn interest.
  • It isn’t subject to market risk.
  • Let’s you enter quarterly draws to win money.
  • Keeps your principal safe indefinitely.

Every draw is public and transparent. Each denomination has:

  • 1 first prize (top prize),
  • 3 second prizes,
  • Multiple third prizes depending on the size of the series.

  • Rs. 25,000 Premium: First prize ~Rs. 30,000,000
  • Rs. 40,000 Premium: First prize ~Rs. 80,000,000

Tax Rules on Prize Bond Winnings

Winning prize money comes with a tax deduction at source based on your tax filing status:

  • Filers: ~15% withholding tax
  • Non-Filers: ~35% withholding tax

Tax is deducted before payment, and winners must present original bonds plus CNIC to claim the prize.

Claiming Your Prize

To claim a prize:

  1. Bring the original prize bond and original CNIC.
  2. Go to any authorized National Savings center or SBP-linked bank.

  4. The prize will be paid after tax.

You have up to six years from the draw date to claim a prize.
