Muttahida Qaumi Movement MQM has confirmed former MPA Nadeem Hashmi arrested from his North Nazimabad residency.
Police took a raid at his residence and took him in hands.
Sources said the arrest was made a hour after two policemen were shot dead near Landi Kotal Chowrangi on Tuesday Night.
Nadeem Hashmi is charged of firing on a police mobile in Haidri area in which two policemen were killed on Tuesday.
The police registered the case in Pirabad police station and arrested Nadeem Hashmi, who is MQM’s Unit Incharge and former MPA, from his residence at Nazimabad.
MQM chief Altaf Hussian and Coordination Committee has condemned the arrest. MQM leader Khwaja Izharul Hasan, who arrived at Pirabad Police Station with workers, claimed that the murder charges were cooked up and unwarranted.
