Amara Athar, Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), has issued a directive for officials to impose significant fines on motorcyclists found without helmets.
She underscored that riding motorcycles without a safety helmet in Lahore will not be tolerated. Effective immediately, motorcyclists will be barred from using Mall Road and other main thoroughfares.
Athar unveiled plans for a rigorous enforcement campaign on various roads, including Canal Road and Jail Road, targeting individuals riding bikes sans helmets. She noted that a fine of Rs2,000 will be levied on motorcyclists caught without helmets in Lahore.
