The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to cancel Haris Rauf’s contract because he refused to join the team for a series of cricket matches in Australia last year. Despite being fit to play, Rauf backed out at the last minute, which upset the selectors. The PCB found Rauf’s reasons for his decision unsatisfactory.
As a result, Rauf’s contract termination is effective from December 1st. Additionally, he is banned from participating in any foreign Twenty20 leagues until June 30th.
The PCB emphasized that playing for Pakistan is a great honor, and refusing to join the test squad without a valid reason or medical excuse violates the terms of the contract.
During the same period, Mohammad Hafeez, who served as team director after Mickey Arthur, has also parted ways with the PCB. The PCB acknowledged Hafeez’s contributions and wished him luck for his future endeavors.
