Former South African cricketer Morne Morkel has resigned as Pakistan’s bowling coach due to commitments in upcoming leagues. He joined the Pakistan Cricket team in June this year for a six-month contract and oversaw the Pakistan Vs Afghanistan series, Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023 showcased in India. His resignation follows Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 where they got fifth position and lost five games out of 09 games.
Pakistan lost the first time in the World Cup to Afghanistan and lost by 07 wickets from India at Ahmedabad in front of 100,000 spectators. Pakistan’s bowling department was crushed in this tournament due to the non-availability of Naseem Shah.
