World Peace Day is being observed in Pakistan and All Over the World

International Peace Day 21st September 2013

ISLAMABAD 21st September 2013: World Peace Day is being observed today (Saturday) all over the world and in Pakistan also with the Subject ‘Education for Peace’.

World Peace Day id dedicated to those who worked hard to promote peace and to recognize their efforts and is observed annually each year year on 21st September.

The United Nations General Assembly declared this day  in 1981 and  first it was observed in September 1982 to devote and  strengthening peace, both within and among nations and peoples .

On the International Day of Peace, also known as Peace Day, special activities and celebrations take place all over the world such ac as concerts, festivals, and a global Pace Wave with silence momentally at noon in every time zone. This provides chance for nation to take practical acts for enforcing peace.

The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by resolution 36/67 of the United Nations General Assembly to coincide with its opening session, which was held annually on the third Tuesday of September. The first World Peace Day was observed in September 1982.

In 2001, the General Assembly by consentaneous vote assumed resolution 55/282, which established 21 September as an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire. World peace must develop from inner peace. Peace is not just mere absence of violence. Peace is the expression of human compassion.

To promote world Peace Day, love your family and people nearby living around you. World peace will begin when we end the wars within each of us.
