Veteran lyricist Gulzar, who was on visiting of Pakistan has returned to India on Wednesday on account of health issues and not for political reasons as reported earlier.
His colleague Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj said to media channels “After that he visited his birth place Dina in Pakistan after 70 years. He was emotionally overcame and stressed and felt uncomfortable after reaching his hotel in Lahore. So we cancelled his recording and decided to accompaniment him back to India and discontinued his journey further. There is nothing political interference about it. We plan to visit Pakistan again for recording as soon as Gulzar Saab feels better.”
Initially it was reported that Indian high Commission in pakistan had sent Gulzar back home as for his safety.
Gulzar who had travelled to Lahore yesterday for recording qawwali of a film “dedh Ishqiya” and this Song were sung by Mehar Ali and sehar Ali.
Gulzar had eerlier visited his native village Kalra Near Deena, 250 Km away from Lahore to remember his childhood memories and had scheduled to spend some time with lahore’s literary sodality persons like amajad islam Amjad before leaving the country.
