Pakistan to Launch a Single Emergency Helpline 911

Pakistan has all set to launch a unified helpline in all provinces called 911 in response to the digital Pakistan initiative.  The Ministry of Information  &Technology has completed all feasibility reports to launch one single emergency helpline number in all of Pakistan.  All others emergency helpline numbers will be merged into this helpline number.

This pilot project is under the supervision of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication in its digital Pakistan initiative with the collaboration of the National Telecommunication Corporation will be launched firstly in Islamabad and with is the backup in Lahore.

Pakistan Emergency helpline 911 launched

  • Sayed Amin ul Haq Minister of Information and Technology has briefed that this project will have access to all emergency services with its unified one Window capability and will be available in all of Pakistan.
  • Ministry of Information and Technology will provide all technical support and development in respect of backend infrastructure and the interior ministry will ensure its implementation by coordinating various emergency response services in the Federal as well as provinces of Pakistan.
  • Currently, we have a number of emergency services including the fire brigade, police, health assistance, disaster recovery, motorway police, rescue 1122, patrolling police, and many others and you have to dial simple 911 on your phone and this emergency helpline will be redirected to the relevant government agency by using one Window access in this pilot project of the Government of Pakistan.
