The government of Punjab has announced a major relief package for electricity consumers in Punjab and Islamabad. While taking this step Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the cost of electricity will be reduced by PKR 14 per unit for those who use between 201 and 500 units of electricity per month.
This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on millions of households worried about their electricity bills.
This relief will be reflected in the August and September electricity bills, helping millions of families. The Chief Minister emphasized that meeting the needs of the people is the top priority, and they are committed to reducing inflation.
To fund this relief, the Punjab government will cover the cost by cutting development funds, amounting to a total burden of 45 billion PKR.
