The government of Pakistan has decided to adjust petrol prices for the upcoming fortnight, from April 1 to April 15, 2024. In this decision, the price of petrol is set to increase by Rs. 9.66 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) will decrease by Rs. 3.32 per litre. As a result, the new price of petrol will be Rs. 289.41 per litre, and HSD will cost Rs. 282.24 per litre.
The revised prices will take effect from midnight on April 1, 2024. The Finance Division explained that the adjustment reflects changes in international market prices, with petrol witnessing an increase and HSD experiencing a slight decline. This decision follows a previous review where the government opted to maintain petrol prices but reduce the price of HSD. The Finance Division issued a notification regarding this adjustment.
