ISLAMABAD: Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai on Wednesday 15th May 2019 took oath as new Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court (FSC) in Islamabad.
Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed as an acting Chief Justice of Pakistan administered oath ceremony at Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The oath ceremony was attended by judicial staff, senior lawyers, Attorney General, Advocate Generals and judges of Supreme Court as well as Federal Shariat Court.
Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai, who was former Chief Justice of High Court of Balochistan province today on 15th May 2019 has taken oath as new Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court at Supreme Court of Pakistan in a simple and dignified ceremony.
Justice Meskanzai will be the chief justice of FSC for two years.
Muhammad Noor Meskanzai was firstly appointed as Additional Judge, High Court of Balochistan on the 7th of September 2009, and confirmed as Judge of the High Court of Balochistan on the 11th of May, 2011. He took oath as Chief Justice of the High Court of Balochistan on December 26, 2014.
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on April 22 considered nomination of Meskanzai as the new FSC top judge which was administered by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa and he also had also proposed name of justice Mohammad Noor Meskanzai .
FSC Chief Justice Sheikh Najamul Hasan retired on May 14. Justice Hasan, who is a former Lahore High Court judge, was appointed as an FSC judge on August 08, 2014 and was elevated as its chief justice on May 15, 2017.
