Former senator Faisal Raza Abidi has been honored in the blasphemy case against the High Court and former Chief Justice, the verdict of the case, Central Judge Central Tahir Mahmood, said.
It is clear that two cases were lodged in the charge of insulting and threatening the Supreme Court judge against Faisal Raza Abidi, after which he was arrested.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had booked Abidi under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) 2016.
According to the FIR registered against the previous Senator, Abidi with criminal reason had used sarcastic, derogatory and defamatory language in opposition to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and became prima facie responsible of offenses punishable underneath sections 10(a), eleven and 20 of Peca, read with sections 109 and 509 of the PPC.
Abidi is likewise going through other FIRs registered at the secretariat police station under PPC’s sections 228, 500, 505(ii) and 34, alongside the 7 ATA, in reaction to a grievance lodged via SC public members of the family Officer Shahid Hussain Kambyo for using threatening language and levelling allegations towards authorities institutions and individuals conserving the best constitutional posts.
