Ben Affleck Oscar Winner Producer of Argo movie based on Wired Magazine

Although he did not get the opportunity as a director but as a producer Ben Affleck wins the best picture.

 

GeekMom’s Andrea Schwalm revised Argo for us in October. As she observes, the story is based (with some dramatic license) on antecedently-classified, real-life events reported in 2007 by Joshuah Bearman in the excellent wired article “How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans from Tehran.”

We were also glad to see Daniel Day Lewis win Best Actor for Lincoln, and Brave take the honors for Best Animated film. And of course our girl Jennifer Lawrence of Hunger Games, who won Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook — and who showed tremendous cool when she stumbled on her gown headed to the podium, causing Les Misérables star Hugh Jackman to rush to her aid.
