Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah as the new chief of naval staff of Pakistan

President Mamnoon hussain appointed new chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah here on today 2nd October 2014. The selection made by the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The EX chief of Naval Staff Admiral Asif Sandila will retire from his duty on October 7, 2014.

Muhammad Zakaullah joined Pakistan navy as commissioned in the operations branch of in June 1978. He has been awarded as recipient of the Sword of Honour. On his graduation, he was awarded Chief of The Naval Staff Gold Medal.

Admiral Zakaullah is a graduate of Royal Naval Staff College (UK) and National Defence University Islamabad. He holds MA (Defence Studies) degree from London University and MSc (War Studies) degree from Quaid-e-Azam University.

He served Pakistan navy in different ways as destroyer Tippu Sultan, 25th destroyer squadron, directing as Staff PN Staff College, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Plans) and Defence Attaché in Qatar.

He has also been awarded as president’s award for pride of performance, president’s medal, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (military), sitara-e-Imtiaz (military) and Hilal-e-Imtiaz (military) as well.
