Pakistan: Mala Day was celebrated throughout the World under UN in Honour of Malala Yousafzai

Malala Day was celebrated on Saturday under

the supports of UN through out the world in honour of child education forward looking from Swat‚ Malala Yousufzai‚ who was gunshot at in Mingora on the 9th of last month by terrorists.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in his message has extended his support to Malala and her fight for education. He illustrated her as the “global symbol” of every girl’s right to an education.

He called upon the international community to join the UN movement to put education first for Malala and girls and boys throughout the world.

In Lahore‚ the school children made a human chain while holding text books in their hands to express harmony with Malala Yousufzai.

Awami National Party arranged a special function in Peshawar in connection with Malala Day.

Malala Day was also celebrated in Gilgit Baltistan on Saturday.

Special programmes are being held in different girls’ schools of Skardu where speakers paid rich tribute to Malala and supported her call for indispensability of girls’ education.

Special prays were also offered for her early recovery.

International Human Rights Observer also organized a “First Malala Zindabad gathering” in Islamabad to celebrate International Malala Day.

Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari in a message on Twitter says we must not let education be a victim of militancy‚ but make it our most effective weapon against it.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain has welcomed the announcement of Malala Day by the UN.

He said Malala has faced terrorism with courage.

Altaf Hussain said Malala Yousufzai has lit the candle of knowledge in the darkness of illiteracy

She said the National Commission for Human Development has announced a campaign to build Malala Schools in about sixteen flood hit districts of the country

In Birmingham, Malala’s father released a statement through Queen Elizabeth Hospital saying how ‘grateful’ and ‘amazed’ Malala is that people around the world are interested in her well-being.

The statement said, “We deeply feel the heart-touching good wishes of the people across the world of all caste, color and creed.”
