Dr. Sher’s article describes detailed structural analysis and physical properties of SrCr1-xFexO3-y perovskite systems. Perovskites are technologically important because of their unique properties, e.g. high-TC superconductivity, colossal magnetoresistance (CMR), mixed electron and oxygen ion conductivity, and rich magnetic conduct. The inquired perovskites are of potential interest as mixed conductors for solid-oxide fuel cells (SOFC) anodes, CMR materials for magnetic data storage and other spintronics devices.
The results show that these materials are semiconducting and order ferrimagnetically below 225-342 K. This is a first detailed study on such useful perovskite materials.
